When simple indulgence cheers your life at best!

On a lazy day today at 5 pm here in London, I am wondering what to cook for tonight and then I get a whats app image from my mum (from India) – Enduring ‘Desi Food’ on a weekday! And I simply go Wow!

The image took me to vivid memories of childhood when my mum used to treat us with this spicy, rich and aromatic paneer (Cottage Cheese) curry with naan and jeera (cumin) rice on weekends. Though it looks simple and dainty now, this menu was a big deal for us! Paneer Butter Masala always meant happy times, special occasions and famous menu for guests in our Indian homes. There were hardly any haters for this condiment ever. Always hit! Always favorite! Always popular!

I did learn this curry from my mum in my teenage years, but honestly I still struggle to copy that authenticity, that taste, that flavor which my mum brought out every single time! Wow! There is a definite magic in any dish prepared by mothers! Isnt it?

Presenting –

Evergreen Paneer Butter Masala, Mint Jeera Rice, Wheat Flour crisp Parathas accompanied with Coriander Cucumber Buttermilk (Our Desi Chaas) and Onion Rings.

Nothing can beat ‘simple desi khana’ on any day, any time, any where at the comfort of your home. And I am really missing it.
