Desi Indian Cooking – National Vegetarian Week – Day 4

So after 3 days of lazy pyjamas cooking during National Vegetarian Week, I have put up my sleeves to hit the kitchen for extensive cooking. And today, its my Desi Style :-). Yeah, Indian Cooking!

While the weather stays a little warm, I planned to make Punjabi cuisine, which is actually a famous menu when it comes to family party dinner – Oven Grilled Paneer Tikka with peppers and onions, Scrumptious Dal Fry, Creamy Mixed Vegetable Curry, Hearty Jeera Rice, Black Pepper Papad, Onion Coriander Mint Chutney with sliced lemony onions and Thick Salty Butter Milk. Wow, a wonderful combination for any desi food soul.

While this menu takes a good time to prepare, I am in full mood of it. Marinated paneer and other veggies in yoghurt and spices and then grilled them, made Dal Fry with 5 different dals (Tuvar, Moong, Masoor, Channa and Urad), saucy mixed veg curry (veggies of my choice – potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, beans and peas sauteed well in onion tomato gravy with spices), simple jeera rice accompanied with roasted papad and freshly pulsed chutney.

While I had a little more time to make rotis, I thought of posting my Desi National Vegetarian Cooking – Day 4. Enjoy.
