So, here we are on a warm Saturday afternoon, relaxed with no ‘work from home’, just weekend chores, binging movies and a big weekend question ‘What’s cooking today? Anything special?’
Well, to answer that question on National Vegetarian Week – Day 6, I had a very simple answer – Lets have some Desi Food. A little bit of cooking, and a very comfortable, wholesome and nourishing full meal option – Desi Khana (Traditional Indian Food).

And here I present a simple, comforting and a hit desi lunch option – Mix Veg Curry, a well cooked spicy, tangy and pungent potato-cauliflower-beans curry simmered in onion-tomato gravy with warm kulchas (thin Rotis), sabudana khichdi and the nation’s favorite ‘Aamras’ (a sweet dish made from mango pulp). Yes, Aamras, a famous dessert popularly served in every Indian household during summers. I grabbed a dozen this week when I found this in a local store here in UK. I have also served sliced onions garnished with coriander and red chilli and fried mirchi (Yes, Indians love spicy food :-))
A perfect meal on a perfect weekend 🙂
