Be it a quick lunch in Nandos or Pret or visiting Taipan, Ask Italian or Chimichanga for dinner. How I dearly miss going out for weekend dinners! Such a good break from daily chores, monotonous humdrum and a good excuse to savor something new!
Well, one of my current favourite Indian restaurants in London is Mumbai Junction, Harrow, popularly called MJ. Though you would find plenty of Indian and Indo-fusion restaurants in the same vicinity (Harrow & Wembley), this tops the list for its umpteen delightful options for every Indian food lover, ample parking, live sports (well, I only like it when its cricket)!
Being a vegetarian I am used to have fewer options in any restaurant or café, but I am always confused which one to miss when I am at MJ. It serves great chat, good variety of Punjabi, Gujarati cuisine and not to miss lip-smacking Indo-Chinese dishes.

When we visited MJ in March, we ordered Vegetarian Tandoori Mixed Grill – smoky, charred and fresh baby potatoes, mushrooms and paneer coated in zesty yogurt sauce smothered in herbs and spices, It is cooked in tandoor, served in hot sizzler plate and accompanied with seasoned yogurt, tangy mango and coriander-mint chutneys. Such a delicious, sizzling and appetizing delicacy!

Though the dish was really flavorsome, rich and aromatic, I think it’s best to enjoy with a group, as the portion is huge! And for just two of us, I felt it a big mission to finish just one dish while we also had Chinese Bhel in queue. A famous Mumbai Street food of deep fried noodles, finely chopped onions, peppers and carrots, shredded cabbage, with hakka spices.

This is one dish which I can never get it right when I try at home. Either I miss the crunch or the current amount of spices or that fusion flavor of noodles and chat. The best bet is to have in these good restaurants which strikes a good balance in everything. I wanted to order noodles for the mains but we were so full, that we thought of trying next time. Well, yes ‘next time’ has a long wait, but I am thinking for a take away and delivery as they have started via justeat this month.
