Veggie Burger on ‘Eat What You Want Day’

Being a hard core food enthusiast, I am always on a huge hunt for good food recipes, interesting food facts and new ingredients. I love experimenting with different kind of cuisines and seldom give my own twist to the recipe (Yes, the result is not always alluring). But the obsession of understanding, cooking and relishing food has reached a new high in the past few years. Yes, sounds like you too?

However, you come across those days, when you have absolutely no mood to cook anything, those recipe shows disinterest you and you skip the food cupboard aisle royally. And needless to say, for many it is quite stressing to make ‘healthy’ food always, thanks to being awed by flawlessly toned celebrities, endless posts on perfect body and fad to eat only low cal-carb diet.  Somewhere between your thoughts and boredom, you either crash binge eating or lose good interest in food. Has it happened to you anytime? Well, at least with me in the past few days.

While quarantine gives you ample time to experiment different recipes in your cookhouse, occasionally it bores you, strains you and even annoys you to present something new, distinct and palatable.  Yes, currently this is a mood of this rock-solid food enthusiast, but as a rookie food blogger, I always attempt to cook good food and satiate my blogging fervour.

So today in my lazy pyjamas, when I have no mood or enthusiasm to spend good time in kitchen, I have stacked up burgers for dinner; simply baked frozen patties and chips, chopped tomatoes, salad leaves and onions and assembled the burger with cheese, ketchup and mayo & served with coke. An absolutely good excuse to celebrate #eatwhatyouwantday!

Yes, May 11 is celebrated as ‘Eat What You Want Day’, This day was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy to help people break away from the frustrating health and diet trends of our times, if for only one day, and just let go and enjoy life a little. And to promote plant-based diet, we also have National Vegetarian Week in the UK from May 11 to 17.

So Day 1 – Veggie Burger. Gearing for a nice dish for tomorrow. Need to beat my boring mood. Aaaarrgghhh
